Dragon Whisper

Sorry the pictures kind of sucks. Can't seem to get a good picture despite my efforts. I'll try once I'm properly home.

Anyways...this was the piece of DOOM from my ceramics class.

Yes, every square was hand cut (from a hand rolled slab), and individually pieced together (without a reference to use in making the correct shape). It stands 18.5 inches tall and it about 12.5 inches across at it's widest point. It's a functional vase...meaning it's waterproof (to a point anyways) and is entirely hollow inside...

It took 24 hours of work to construct and a few more hours to glaze.

Speaking of the glaze...didn't quite turn out the way I wanted. The dragons don't really show up...and for some reason are darker towards the bottom of the vase compared to the top (though I worked around the piece while glazing, not top to bottom).

BUT I liked the way it turned out anyways! Like painting or drawings that had been weathered by time...or something artsy like that >.<
